The movie opens up with Mumbai witnessing a series of bomb explosions. AK alias Ashok Kumar (Ajith) is the man behind it. Soon he kidnaps Arya, a hacker, and includes him in his larger plan. A flashback is revealed, where we are told about Maya (Nayantara), Anitha (Taapsee Pannu), who is the girlfriend of Arya and an aspiring TV journalist. Ajith threatens to kill Anitha in order to make Arya to work for him. They successfully hack and bring down the server of a media company. Honest cop played by Kishore catches them and another flashback takes us to Ajith Kumar's past life in ATS (Anti Terrorist Squad) along with Sanjay (Rana Daggubati).

Story: The Fifth Estate traces the story of WikiLeaks founder Julian Assange (Cumberbatch) who teams up with Daniel Berg (Bruhl) to become international watchdogs. Via WikiLeaks, they expose corruption, lift the lid on corporate crime and shed light on government wrongdoings. Review: The slick opening montage of this movie sets the stage for a potentially exciting and gripping story. Assange starts out with nothing, but his silent resolve, coupled with vision, determination and focus, far outreaches his finances. His reputation as a hipster/hacker grows and partnering with Berliner, Berg (a brilliant programmer) is a masterstroke. Together, they make Wikileaks a force to reckon with. As Assange knows that Wikileaks offers the kind of shocking information that he feels people want to - and probably should - know about, his obsession starts veering towards paranoia. He also has a nose for sensationalism. His friendship, followed by a disagreement with Berg is reminiscent of the Zuckerberg-Saverin equation from The Social Network. While that movie brought to light various aspects about human nature, Estate doesn't come close in edginess. You will however, wonder about whether Assange is in it for the greater good, or to feed his own galloping ego. He realizes he has access to information that can make governments quake, and that kind of power can go to anyone's head. Sarah Shaw (Linney) and James Boswell (Tucci) of the US State Department portray their roles well and represent much about the US Government's perspective on transparency. While the real Julian Assange presently languishes in diplomatic asylum at the Ecuadorian Embassy in London, Cumberbatch does a good job of portraying the embattled whistleblower. Cumberbatch's Assange is emotionless, cold and sometimes a bit sinister. For someone who insists on global transparency, his own personality is paradoxically as impervious as a cold steel wall. You wonder what actually is going on inside his head. A movie about Assange and Wikileaks is bound to be tough to tackle and while it has a few things going for it, Condon could have scored better if he chose to focus deeper on Assange's admittedly complex and mysterious psyche.

Critic's Review Ishq Actually is not for those who know what they want from life. It's for the overtly romantic types, who watch films, read poetry and hope to walk in the clouds. The protagonist Gia ( Neha Ahuja) falls in love with the idea of love, more than anything else, which explains her inability to make up her mind when it comes to the real world. She gets engaged to Kabir ( Rayo Bakhirta) but cannot stop thinking about mystery man Neil (Rajeev Khandelwal), with whom she had a fling. Kabir is practical, while Neil is as dreamy as Gia. Who is she destined to be with?
The non-linear narrative, comprising of mysterious flashbacks, keeps you guessing in spite of the sluggish pace. The film reminded us of Vicky's dilemma from Woody Allen's 'Vicky Cristina Barcelona'. Of course, Ishq Actually is no VCB but the background score with its instrumental flamenco guitar pieces, tries to ape the latter for sure. Even Khandelwal is seen wearing a fedora and a scarf, looking all arty a la Javier Bardem. He is the lover who prefers to walk with his lady instead of driving her around. Can you feel the love yet?
Bottom-line? It's not the story but the way its presented, that makes this film the kind you will want to watch on a lazy afternoon. Like most arty foreign films, there's a lot of nothingness going on in it so stay away if you find this boring. However, if you are as indecisive as the protagonist, it will keep you glued. Rajeev Khandelwal makes his presence felt, while the rest are mediocre.
Ishq Actually is not actually about ishq but our notions of it so don't expect a great love story.

Critic's Review:
Sooper Se Ooper is a sweet-road-movie of sorts, where everyone's chasing after something. Ranveer is chasing his mama, Kukreja and his sidekicks are chasing Ranveer, don Salim bhai (Tinu Anand) is chasing Kukreja and village belle Gulabo ( Kirti Kulhari), her dream of becoming a Bollywood actor. When all are not running around, they boast about Rajputana shaan and the vibrant culture of Rajasthan. Other than the property dispute, the film is also essentially about loving your family and going back to your roots.
With standup comedian Vir Das at the helm of affairs, the film certainly has it's share of good laughs, with most of the humour arising from the actors' reaction to people and situations. There are a few good one-liners as well. We especially liked the 'Pakistan toh Kashmir mein aata hai' comment, which was cleverly placed. However, don't go expecting a laugh-out-loud comedy as it's predominantly a family drama. The relationship between Ranveer and his langot-clad painter mama, who has a heart of gold, is beautifully portrayed.
Deepak Dobriyal and his sidekicks amuse you in the beginning but their gags get repetitive. Vir Das is effortlessly understated. He pulls off emotional scenes with equal ease as he does his comedy. But it's the brilliant Gulshan Grover, who steals the show with his superb presence. Rajasthan has been shot beautifully.
Much to our relief, Sooper se Ooper is unconventional and thus not cliched. It's a decent entertainer. Sadly, it's not as funny as we had expected it to be either.

What's the story?
Eighteen years after American writer Jesse (Ethan Hawke) and French environmentalist/feminist Celine (Julie Delpy) first met cute on a train, they're together, still holding each other in thrall but struggling with the burdens of careers, children, and the shifting dynamics of a long-term relationship. Story:
Once while Neil Nitin Mukesh's character is watching people playing golf, he notices Ameesha Patel's character having an illegal relationship with a man. He manages to capture the same in his video camera. Ameesha is the wife of a rich businessman.
Neil blackmails Ameesha and extracts money from her whenever he needs. Once he makes a trip abroad to Australia with her expenditure. There he happens to meet Pooja Gupta and falls in love with her. Pooja tells him that she is a very rich girl from a respected family. While he decides to propose to her, he finds that she has left the city. The Lunchbox reviews:
Ritesh Batra�s first offering is like a three course meal which has all the spices albeit in apt proportion.
The story is of a to be retired Govt Employee Sajan Fernandes (Irfan Khan) a widower and Ila (Namrit Kaur) who is a housewife and whose life exists around her husband Rajeev (Nakul Vaid) and her daughter Yashvi. Ila�s only companion is her neighbor Mrs. Despande (Voice of Bharati Achrekar) who gives her tips how to make her husband happy. One day the lunchbox meant for Rajeev by mistake is delivered to Sajan and it starts a conversation between Sajan and Ila through letters which they sent to each other in the lunchbox. How the relationship between these two characters blossoms constitutes the crux of the story.
The main hero of the movie is the script and story written by Ritesh Batra. It is poignant, honest and extremely heart wrenching. It captures the loneliness of staying in a big city beautifully. The story is sweet, humorous and at the same time sad, definitely a beautiful mix. The screenplay is slow but the details that it captures somehow compensates to the slow pace. Ritesh has written every sequence with �lan. It is undoubtedly one of the best stories of 2013.
Performance wise it is brilliant, what can you expect with Irfan Khan & Nawazuddin Siddiqui in the same frame, it was crackling. But surprise packet is Namrit Kaur as Ila who is relatively new to bollywood but she shines with her riveting performance which matches the likes of Irfan and Nawazuddin, truly brilliant. Her loneliness is depicted quite expressively by her expressions.
Irfan as Sajan is brilliant; his precision in the characterization is to be seen to be believed. Nawazuddin Siddiqui as usual gives another crackling performance. Bharati Achrekar though is only heard as Mrs Deshpande gives a dynamo performance through her voice, she actually gives the comic relief to the proceedings. Another performance by Lilette Dubey who plays Ila�s mother is impactful, though she is actually in two scenes but she does justice to her character.
Cinematography by Michael Simmons captures Mumbai beautifully and gives enough depth to the story. Production design by Shruti Gupte is realistic and minimalistic and does not overcrowd the proceedings of the story.
Ritesh�s direction captures the nuances of the characters correctly and makes the characters believable. He has captured the pains and loneliness of his characters through their expressions which shows his hold on the medium. Every character is fleshed out well. Actually Ritesh won half the battle with his script.
�The Lunchbox� is a fulfilling meal, the taste of which lingers even after the movie is over. A definite watch.

What parents need to know
Parents need to know that Kevin Hart: Let Me Explain is Hart's fourth stand-up "concert" film. It includes a prologue set at a party (with drinking) and scenes of Hart traveling all over the world meeting fans; similar bits appear during the epilogue, with the hour-long stand-up act in between. Language is the strongest issue, with almost constant use of "f--k," "s--t," the "N" word, and others. Hart's act also includes strong sexual innuendo (such as references to oral sex and sex with a bean bag chair), as well as plenty of drug references (he talks about taking Ecstasy and imagines himself as a drug dealer). There's also talk of going to clubs and drinking quite often, as well as references to being drunk (and drunk driving). Some of Hart's material references violence, such as an attempt to disarm a gunman outside a club. Hart fans will love this, but it's not likely to convert newcomers.

What's the story?
At a party, comedian Kevin Hart is accosted by many of his guests, who ask him pointed questions and show general disapproval for the things he's said and done. He decides to "explain" everything by putting on a show at Madison Square Garden and storms out of the party. After showing all the places he's been in the world in flashbacks, Hart goes on stage (where he has a "shooting fire" effect). He talks about being divorced, relationships with women, and his relationships with his kids. Finally, when he finishes, he's moved to tears by the audience's appreciation and for being one of only a few comedians ever to play the Garden.
Review: Baat Bann Gayi is a clean family film as there are no double-meaning jokes or tacky skin shows that make you cringe. Sadly, there is no comedy or entertainment either, and for a film that intends to be funny, this one ends up being tardy and way too predictable for your liking.

What parents need to know Parents need to know that Pacific Rim is a giant monsters vs. giant robots movie from Oscar-nominated director Guillermo Del Toro (Hellboy, Pan's Labyrinth). Fighting and violence are the film's biggest issues, though the huge, loud clashes are more about punching, pummeling, and the rampant destruction of property than bloodshed (the only blood shown is in the form of a bloody nose). One minor but key character dies. There's a romantic connection between a male and female character, but their bonding is mostly non-sexual (aside from a scene in which she breathlessly looks at his naked chest). Language is infrequent but includes a couple of uses of words like "s--t," "bitch," and "goddamn."

What parents need to know
Parents need to know that Carrie is the newest adaptation of Stephen King's best-selling 1974 horror novel. Director Kimberly Peirce focuses even more on the bullying angle than her 1976 predecessor Brian De Palma, and the violent sequences are even bloodier: people are impaled, burned, stabbed, and bludgeoned to death; and a mother physically and emotionally abuses her daughter. The humiliation is also just as disturbing: Carrie is ruthlessly ridiculed and even recorded/photographed for being so upset at her first menstruation, and in the film's climax a vicious prank leads to her being covered in pig's blood. Although there's no nudity in the locker room scene, girls do appear in towels or just their bras and panties. There's also a good bit of passionate kissing as well as one sex scene between teens and some underage drinking.

Parents need to know that Thor: The Dark World is the sequel to 2011's Thor, continuing where the adventures of that film -- as well as Marvel's The Avengers -- left off. This time around, Thor (Chris Hemsworth) embarks on his most perilous journey yet in a battle to save Earth and the Nine Realms from being consumed by darkness, sacrificing what he believes and loves to rescue the worlds from destruction. This dark-skewing comic book-based action film promises some intense battle scenes, as well as kissing and strong language.

Critic's Review
The sleekest part of this movie is NTR Jr's look. The actor has never looked leaner and trendier than this onscreen. We're afraid that's about all the novelty you will find in this standard edition revenge fare. Off course he dances like a dream, renders punch-lines with his inimitable style, bashes up countless baddies to pulp, woos two pretty ladies, shows off his comic timing and does everything else we've seen him do in every other movie. As they say, this one's a festive offering for hardcore fan boys to dig into.
There must be few things vainer than making Tollywood potboilers. For the elements are all the same. You have a righteous hero who is wronged - his loving family and lover (Ammulu) are executed by the villains, it is revealed in the flashback episode post the explosive interval bang. So to get his revenge he woos Akarsha, (daughter of his nemesis) by harassing her to the point where she begins to feel love him back. He even befriends her granny and gets himself invited to her sister's wedding and springs the big surprise showing off his true-self in an elaborate action sequence. Well the second half is all about how he gets his vendetta.
The characterizations are all straight out of the manual. Nandu offers NTR all the leverage to flaunt his enviable range as an actor - from playing the carefree youth, the brooding avenger, innocent family man, good natured rich kid you name it. Needless to say he creams it. Shruti and Samantha who get almost equal screen space glam up the proceedings with their acts. Mukesh Rishi plays the stereotypical politician who will not stop at anything to get what he wants.
The entertainment factor is where the film falls short. The one-liners are all there but they fall well short of being truly funny. Rohini Hattangade evokes a few laughs playing an unmarried granny who's looking for her knight in shining armor. Kota Srinivasa Rao light up the screen with his effervescence playing a sharp witted politician. Ravi Shanker playing a lecherous baddie also stands out for his villainy.
The dejavu inducing music by Thaman isn't too bad either as is the cinematography. What this movie lacks is that X factor that a Gabbar Singh had and that might just turn out to be the biggest undoing.
Note: Watch it only if you love NTR Jr, it's a as good a show reel of the actor as any, if you are looking for something else, you'll go back disappointed.
