Remember back when the found footage style was a unique style of filmmaking and only a handful of films used it? (I.E. The Blair Witch Project, Paranormal Activity, Rec.) But it's common knowledge nowadays that it's become a clich� and a cheap gimmick for studios to save on production costs. Most of the time, there is almost no effort put into the film's storyline, characters, or scares. The Gallows certainly doesn't help its case.
Pros:
-A few decent performances
-Good production design
-Has the potential to be scary
Cons:
-Insufferable main character
-Bullshit plot twist that makes no sense
-Plot itself is nonsensical
-Relies on cheap jump scares
-Has a few good ideas, but they're usually screwed up somehow.

Storyline
Alicia is a young real estate broker who stumbles on an old apartment building, where she plans a secret and romantic meeting with her boyfriend Simon. Actually the only problem i had with this movie was the different language that is used. The production used Spanish and English. I'd rather its in Spanish and i read off the subtitles. Casting of the actress was not the best of choice as her accent was too thick when she speaks English . Other than screaming, which she is best, her acting for other scenes did not have the depth nor expressed too well. Violence and all .. is worth a watch though. Plenty of scary moments. It really did remind me of REC, where everything happens in a building. Quite a good choice if you are picking a movie for your halloween get together with friends. Lastly, the ratings could've scored better(current 4.7)

Storyline

Which is a pity, since as a reviewer who has been watching theatrical releases since the 1970s, up to this point the ISOYG franchise was one of the "purest" of the 70s style releases left on the planet.
Notice that I am not saying whether or not this is a good thing - whether this style of visceral horror is "your cup of tea" is really up to the viewer. The point is that ISOYG entries 1 and 2 were true to the formula and, for purists, they delivered.
This entry is strange. If you check the IMDb credits, star Sarah Butler, who pretty much has been carrying this series on her back, gets a "misc" credit at the end of the IMDb roll. Whattsup with that? This entry takes a sharp right turn from the formula -- never a great way to start a movie -- and relies instead on a lot of scholarly dialog and flashbacks to the earlier entries just to maintain a pretence of dramatic tension.
Pa-leeze! The "4" rating may be a bit high, but Butler does have her fans and she deserves credit for holding screen interest.

Starship Apocalypse attempts to be a part of a low budget rip-off of the Star Wars trilogy. It is the sequel of Starship: Rising, which currently has an IMDb rating of 2.1. This is not a good sign.
The plot is a mish-mosh of pieces taken from other movies. The evil emperor in a black robe wants to turn everyone into mindless zombies by infecting them with an evil virus and of course the noble rebel alliance tries to stop him.
The production values remind me of nothing so much as a Star Trek fan video made using little but green screen and CGI. The props and costumes are adequate. The acting was hardly stellar.
Their failing is the confusing, chaotic script. If the authors had a clear and imaginative vision. Unfortunately the whole movie rather resembled the confused, hemming and hawing reflection by the star at the beginning. It mumbled without ever really saying anything.
I rated this movie as a three and I will always rate any movie that is science fiction as a good point higher than if it were another genre just because I like Science Fiction.

To paraphrase another reviewer and a line from the movie's opening narration, it's as if Caddyshack and Superbad had a love child. A very funny love child...
As you watch this movie, it's easy to pick out influences from other flicks. Jonah Hill type? Check. Michael Cera type? Check, but let's go with black hair so it's not obvious. And so it goes, even including a mumbling grounds-keeper a la Caddyshack. Mind you, these are not necessarily bad things. Considering I laughed myself silly quite a few times, I won't complain.
This movie was a refreshing change from the standard fare of late. It's just a silly comedy with barely enough plot to move from scene to scene. It's not a dreary underdog saga set in a dystopian future. It's not another overwrought superhero movie with a 45 minute CGI battle scene to fill up the running time once the creators ran out of ideas. And most thankfully, it's not an angst-filled critique of relationships. It's just a funny story. I wish there were more movies like this one.
The many supporting characters were great fun. Kate Walsh and Jim Gaffigan played their parent roles to deadpan perfection. The kid from Bad Grandpa played a great straight man (straight kid?) to the totally inappropriate influences of Fred Armisen.
Don't expect too much, but do sit back and enjoy a few belly laughs. And be thankful not everybody in Hollywood has given up on making light-hearted comedies.

"Walking with the Dead" (2015) is not the worst movie of all time, and that is probably the best thing i can say about this "spoof". I liked that they tried to spoof some famous zombie movies and shows, but they failed or not even tried harder. Characters (more like costumes) that resembles famous characters from the originals are there and they kinda try to spoof them, but usually it is not funny, more just dull and gross at times. There are some very bad dialogs and acting in here, and although i love spoof genre, this one isn't good - comparing any "Scary Movie" installment to "Walking with the Dead" would be like trying to compare "Godfather" with , well "Walking with the Dead".
Overall, whether you like spoof genre or not, "Walking with the Dead" is a very poor attempt to laugh at some famous movies. In order for make a funny spoof they forget to create a nice movie - even good spoofs don't have to be great art, but this one is just just dreadful. But it is not the worst movie or spoof i have ever saw, there are some worst movies, but i couldn't recommend this flick to anyone.
